Expansion

Under construction and ongoing bridges keep falling in Bihar. Even just a few days ago, a large part of the under-construction bridge got submerged in the Ganges. Apart from big incidents, this incident of Sasaram is strange. An 11-year-old boy got stuck in a bridge gap. Neither did he tell anything to anyone while he was alive, nor did anyone see him how he got trapped. But, it is certain that in some chatter on the bridge, his foot went into a gap about a foot wide and then he could not control himself. Went inside and got trapped in such a way that the sound of her crying reached a woman passing by on foot.

There was a danger of getting stuck on Gandhi Setu

While passing heavy vehicles on the old Gandhi Setu connecting Patna-Hajipur, different slabs of the bridge used to move up and down. The slab on which the load fell used to go down and that part came up when the load was removed. During this time, there was a danger of pedestrians getting trapped between the jagged iron part made between the two slabs. Small vehicles also became uncontrollable many times due to the tooth-like part being too high. But, the kind of incident that came to light in Sasaram happened for the first time in Bihar.

Ranjan died like this in Sasaram, body was dehydrated for 24 hours in 40-42 degree temperature

Stunt performers fell on Rajendra Setu, did not get trapped

The Rajendra Setu connecting Patna-Begusarai has a railway track on the lower side and a roadway on the upper side. There are footpaths on both sides of the road. There is a gap between the carriageway and the pavement, but it is not going to get stuck. If someone jumps from the middle of this gap, he can come to the other side, but in the process of taking such a risk, there is a possibility of falling directly into the river Ganges. There is a similar danger on the railway track below the roadway. In the midst of this danger, there has been an incident of snatching of people talking on mobile while traveling on the stairs of the train. There have also been accidents in snatching. But, there was no such case of entrapment.

So, now you have to be careful while walking

If we know how the Sasaram incident happened, then there will be no carelessness about the children while walking. The child did not get trapped while walking on the roadway of the bridge, but fell uncontrollably after hiding in the gap, playing or accidentally stepping on the edge of the bridge. Since the child himself did not say anything or there was no eyewitness, ‘Amar Ujala’ is bringing out three types of apprehensions. It is clear that there is no problem in walking on the bridge, but if children are walking with you or children are used to going on the bridge, then care must be taken that they do not go towards the edge. There is a gap of up to one feet, in which children can fall. The end of the rescue operation at Sasaram on Thursday has shown how impossible it is to get them out after falling and how slow the evacuation system is.
